Who Are We?
Founded by one medical student and one finance student that happened to be siblings, GUGU is our arena to express day to day college life through our double meaning, hand-drawn and creative designs.

The Name?
Intaily, our brand was not named GUGU, it was ‘La Merch’, forgetting the fact that this name means ‘the Merch’ which did not represent us as we wished. In a moment of frustration my dad once came through the door while we were in the middle of a call. So the sister, Aisha, said: Hey Gugu, how are you?

We found our treasure..
Gugu is a tweaked version of our family name "Agag" which we use to call family members all the time.
We also realized, that almost every known clothing brand (Versace, Gucci etc.) are just family names.

And just like this, GUGU was set to represent our generation and generations to come from this family.
